Guillermo Varela Mata is a luxury hospitality executive with more than two decades of leadership across ultra-luxury brands including Anantara, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Rosewood, Aman, and Hyatt, spanning twelve countries across Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
He currently serves as Cluster General Manager, Croatia & Slovenia, for Minor Group, leading the renovation and rebrand of two five-star properties into the Anantara and Minor Reserve portfolio.
He previously opened Siari, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, in Nayarit, Mexico, and served as Managing Director of Rosewood San Miguel de Allende and Rosewood Luang Prabang, where he delivered double-digit gains in guest satisfaction, profitability, and retention. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles with Aman Resorts in Greece and Sri Lanka, and with Hyatt and Marriott's Tribute Portfolio in Indonesia.
He holds a Master's in Leadership for Executives from Oxford University, Cornell University certificates in Real Estate Development, Talent & Culture, and Marketing, and a culinary foundation from Le Cordon Bleu.
